Yarrow Collective’s Peer Supporter Mentorship Program
Completing a peer supporter or recovery coach training is a great first step. It can ignite a passion for using the wisdom of your lived/living experience to support others or provide foundational values and skills for how you can use your experience in support of others.
But once the training ends, a new question often arises: "What do I do now?" You may feel the weight of imposter syndrome or wonder how to find your footing in a clinical world that may not fully understand your role. We have felt that too; you are not alone.

The Yarrow Peer Mentorship Program was created for this reason. It’s a dedicated space to transition from new peer supporter to a more confident and clear peer supporter. Here, you will join a community of peers who get it—a place to learn, grow, and transform your lived experience into your greatest asset.

Why Peer-to-Peer
Mentorship Matters
If you’re working in a clinical setting as a peer supporter, clinical supervision is important, but it doesn’t quite capture the unique ethics and values of peer support. A supervisor without lived experience may struggle to understand the nuances of your role. When clinical supervisors lack the specific framework for peer support, there's a risk that the unique power of the peer support role gets diluted in a clinical setting.
Peer Mentorship
Program Structure

Yarrow’s Peer Mentorship Program is open to independent peer supporters and peer supporters employed by an agency. It’s designed to support an onboarding process or provide continuing education, and is not a substitute for formal peer or recovery coach training. Individuals should have some completed peer support training or recovery coach training before beginning this mentorship program.
In our mentorship program, each month participants will engage in four hours of structured activities, beginning with a two-hour Learning Circle that expands on the foundations of peer support, ethics, and essential skills. This is complemented by a 90-minute Co-Reflection Group, providing a dedicated space for participants to discuss and reflect on their personal experiences in their roles. Additionally, every participant receives a monthly 30-minute 1:1 Peer-to-Peer Consultation session with a seasoned peer supporter for personalized mentorship and guidance. The program culminates in an Integration & Celebration Gathering, where the cohort will share their learnings, reflect on their journey, and build connections for ongoing support.
