Community Events

We offer donation-based and open-to-the public events to help increase awareness about peer support, create dialogue around alternatives to recovery and healing, and build a sense of connected community.

We currently run an event series focused around themes of self-defined recovery, ancestral healing, and harm reduction, and host online webinars and trainings in peer support.

Community Workshops

We offer presentations and workshops for the community, other organizations, and at conferences about the Yarrow Collective, the peer support movement, alternative approaches to crisis and suicidality, and how peer support values and skills can enrich your personal and professional life.

Current workshops include:

4-hour Intro to Peer Support: most suitable to peer supporters, and people either already working, volunteering or interested in working in peer support roles.

4-hour Liberatory Harm Reduction: this workshop looks specifically at peer support skills for people who use drugs and those supporting folks who use substances with a harm reduction lens. In this training, we cover the history of liberatory harm reduction, the differences between public health harm reduction and liberatory approaches, and how to apply harm reduction tools to a peer support practice.

1-hour Peer Support Overview: covering the essentials of what peer support is, the history of the movement, and peer support skills that can help you navigate mental health conversations in your professional and personal lives.

We can and do tailor workshops to cover a variety of topics including: the values of peer support, supporting the peer support workforce, non-carceral responses to suicide, LGBTQ+ inclusive practices for peer supporters, supporting people in their self-defined recovery journey, and much more!
